NAHRS Committee Descriptions
The Nursing and Allied Health Resources Section is looking for members interested in working with colleagues to serve the interests of the Section for this next year. A description of committee follows. Indicate your preferences by sending email to the NAHRS Chair.
- Archives
Collects material related to the history and business of NAHRS including minutes, newsletters, membership lists, annual reports, and memorabilia.
- Bylaws
Reviews NAHRS Bylaws and recommends changes as needed.
- Continuing Education
Offers continuing development opportunities for the membership.
- Fiftieth Anniversary
Plans the events and activities commemorating NAHRS half century as an MLA Section, which will be observed at the Seattle 2012 meeting.
- Government Relations
Monitors policy issues and government actions; alerts members to relevant information and needed actions; and serves as liaison to MLA Governmental Relations Committee.
- Honors
Administers the Section's awards program, including recognition for outstanding performance for mid-career members; acknowledgement of retiring members; and nomination of Section members eligible for MLA awards.
- Membership
Promotes membership in NAHRS and MLA and furthers communication within the membership through a biennial directory and listserv.
- Newsletter
Assists in the writing and production of the quarterly newsletter.
- Nominating
Develops a slate of candidates for the annual election of officers and manages the election process.
- Program Planning
Assists the Chair and Chair-Elect in planning the annual meeting program.
- Research
Supports research by NAHRS members, including the mapping projects, and conducts research that contributes to the evidence base for section sponsored activities. - Section Shuffle
Coordinates NAHRS participation in the Section Shuffle at the MLA Annual Meeting. - Strategic Planning
Reviews and revises NAHRS goals to ensure that they support MLA strategic directions. - Web Site
Participates in the development and maintenance of the Section's web site.
